Message emailed tonight from Sue the group scout leader.
Following the daily brief from the prime minister and guidance from the
scout association all scouting events and meeting are suspended from
tomorrow 17th March until further notice. The scout association will hopefully be sending out resources that you can do with your children if you have to self-isolate. Any questions please contact myself or your child’s section leader
Group Scout Leader
You may notice when you return after the Summer break that the Scout Hut is looking a lot smarter and brighter. This is all down to the hard work of a team of workers from Warburton’s Bolton Bakery. As part of a team building day organised by Scout leader Wayne, who works at the bakery, the employees swapped the bakery for the Scout hut for a day. During the course of a long days work they were able to clad the lower part of the main hall and paint it, …
6 scouts from the group took part in the first ever district cooking competition called Taste of the world and Won!!. Each of the teams were given a country that they had to base their food around and also give a 10-minute presentation about their given country. Our scouts were a credit to the group and should be proud of their achievements. Please see the below images.
The judges also commented on
How well you built and kept the fire going (thanks Wayne for your excellent fire skills)
Good use of tin foil …

Last night the 21st Scouts had a great evening learning about Fair trade. They learnt about the banana trade, and how paying a bit more at the shops can have an impact on how much the grower earns. A huge thank you to Simon from St Peters church for giving up his time.
Hope you have all recovered from your 13 mile hike (group one did add another mile on ) we would like to say Well done to all the scouts who came on the expedition Challenge award they have all achieved the badge. Please see photos and route below:
Following the recent Chariot Race & camp, I received the following comments from some of the scouts!!

“It was fun, working as a team,” cheered Ged
Jacob told me “It was utterly, utterly, utterly the best camp”
Tyler on being informed that his team had made it through to the finals on the Sunday sighed, “Do we really have to do it again tomorrow?”
Thanks & well done to all the scouts for working together and getting through all the challenges
