St. George’s Day 2015

1 April 2015

Thursday 23rdApril is the St. George’s Day celebration in St. Helens. As St George is the Patron Saint of Scouting it is the one event where all members of the Scout movement are expected to attend. Events will be taking place nationwide to celebrate St George’s Day.

Full uniform is required: Jumper/shirt, school trousers or Scout trousers (no jeans or tracksuit bottoms), school shoes (no trainers) and neckers.

This year the celebration consists of a service at St Helens Parish church in the town centre where all members will renew their promise. Members should meet outside the church between 6:20pm and 6:30pm ready to parade round the church and then into church for a 7pm service. It is expected that the service will be no longer than 1 hour as we realise that this is a school night.

There will be a collection in church for the Districts chosen charity which this year is Legacy Rainbow House.

Although we cannot guarantee seats in church if you do wish to go into the service then please allow all of the members and flags to enter church first

A FULL TURN OUT OF MEMBERS IS EXPECTED, however if for any extraordinary reason your child cannot parade then you MUST let me know by ringing or texting me on 07870834244.

Thanking you for your continued support.
