REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE – 9th November 2014

26 October 2014

As in previous years we will be taking part in the annual Remembrance Day parade in Earlestown. For this occasion we expect a full turn out of members in full uniform (Scout shirts/Cub or Beaver jumpers, school or scout trousers, neckers and school shoes). Tracksuit bottoms, jeans and trainers are not acceptable. A poppy should be worn. Coats may be worn if it is raining, otherwise please put plenty of layers under the uniform.

This is one of only two occasions in which we expect a full turn out, the other being St. George’s Day in April. We do realise that many members play rugby or football on a Sunday, however, if it wasn’t for the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for us we woutdn’t be where we are now.

The parade consists of a short walk with our flags from the Sea Cadet HQ on Cross Lane to the cenotaph for the laying of the wreaths. From there we walk to St. John’s Church for a service and then back to T.S. Warspite.

Members should meet at T.S. Warspite at 10:15am. Parents are more than welcome to stay and walk alongside the parade. We should be back at approximately midday.

lf your child is going to be parading elsewhere please ring me on 01925 221597 or 07870834244.

Many thanks in advance for your support on this matter.
